Bochlwyd Horseshoe, Wales.

 

Rated as a Grade one scrambling route, the Bochlwyd Horseshoe consists of the iconic Welsh mountains Tryfan Ridge, Bristly Ridge, Glyder Fachas and Y Gribin Ridge.

 

Distance: 5.3 Miles.

Get as close as you can to Tryfan to begin your hike amongst one of Snowdonia’s quintessential scramble trails.  Rated as a Grade one scrambling route, the Bochlwyd Horseshoe consists of the iconic Welsh mountains Tryfan Ridge, Bristly Ridge, Glyder Fachas and Y Gribin Ridge. You can spice up your walk by adding in Bastow Buttress depending on your experience with more taxing courses.  We recommend you come early to ensure you don’t miss out on a parking spot as they tend to fill up quite quickly. Pack in helmets and rope if you’re not too experienced with scramble walks. The hike up is trickier in winter.

 

Hadrian’s Wall, Cumbria, England.

 

Favored by many a walker, the hike dishes up a diverse landscape and allows the hiker to experience the life and times of the men who defended these walls.

 

Distance: 84 Miles.

The defensive wall built by the Romans from 122 AD onwards was once used to safeguard the Roman-occupied areas from Scotland yet now serves as a coast to coast National Trail. Favored by many a walker, the hike dishes up a diverse landscape and allows the hiker to experience the life and times of the men who defended these walls and includes Roman forts along the way. Divide the trail up into more comfortable walks to suit the hikers’ preference.

Seven Sisters, East Sussex.

Distance: 13. 8 Miles.

Towering over the English Channel, these porcelain white chalk cliffs enthrall walkers with its views of the fantastic coastline.  Consisting of the “seven sisters” Haven Brow, Brass Point, Rough Brow, Flagstaff Brow Short Brow, Went Hill and Bailey’s Hill, the walk dips down to the shoreline making it a great spot to cool off! The beautiful town of Seaford rests on the south coast England and will be the starting point of your hike. If you wish to make a shorter trek, then we recommend you begin the walk from the Seven Sisters Country Park. Walkers must stay away from the edges of the cliffs as it is known for giving in to erosion.

 

Walberswick nature reserve, Suffolk.

 

The Reserve consists of a variety of sceneries ranging from lagoons, woodlands, grasslands, and marshes

 

Distance: 10 Miles.

This one is a particular favorite for bird lovers and best visited in the spring months. The Reserve consists of a variety of sceneries ranging from lagoons, woodlands, grasslands, and marshes. Rich in habitat, this reserve is called home by an assortment of animals like otters, deer and abundant spices of birds. You can begin your walk from Walberswick to Dunwich through a clear path or use the ferry to cross river Blythe and start from there. Keep an ear open for the calls from the March Harrier, Wigeons, Pintails and the Bearded Tit amongst many others. You can stock up on refreshments at Dunwich village.

The trail takes a modest hour and a half to complete which means families can stop by the stepping stones at box hills for a relaxing picnic. The walk will keep even the most boisterous tots engaged with rope swings, tunnels, intriguing wildlife and log bridges.Located at the visitor center by the car park are amenities like washrooms and cafes are.  Keep an eye on your kids in case there is any tumbling over!
