We had the most awesome weekend with Betty Flo. Not only does she look awesome, she drives really beautifully and the owner literally could not have been more helpful.
The kids absolutely loved it and every time we see a camper driving by, they wave but say that it is not as epic as Betty Flo.
Would definitely recommend Awesome.

We have two young children (10 & 8 year olds) and we hired Archie for a weekend in Warwickshire with friends. Archie was perfect and was equipped with everything you need...and more. Communication with Richard was excellent and he really couldnt do enough to help. He also spent time with us when we collected Archie to explain everything and how it all worked - really appreciated. The children had a great time and are already asking when we can do it again! I would definitely recommend Archie. Thanks again Richard for all your help.

The Camperbug website is very user friendly, & we quickly found Holly, our perfect companion for a long weekend in Suffolk. From our first point of contact, Steph & Neil were very friendly, & helpful, giving us guidance & tips. Holly has been beautifully restored, & had everything we needed. She is fun & comfortable to drive. The rock & roll bed was easy to use, becoming a very comfortable & cosy double bed. We would highly recommend Holly, & would not hesitate to hire her again.

Thunder Betty is an immaculate vintage VW with a new engine. We spent most of the time ambling around at 40-50 mph and were able to park in some beautiful spots next to sandy beaches with oyster catchers, kittiwakes, plovers and eider duck. The van is well kitted out and has a rock and roll bed which besides being comfortable was big enough for both of us in our sleeping bags (provided) without having to put the roof up. Cooking was fine, the fridge was well cold enough and the van was easy to park and very economical on petrol. Because it is not much bigger than a car it was easy to park in town as well. Something that campers might like to know is that there are many public conveniences in Orkney - they are clean and well maintained and - they are in some beautiful and remote spots - wild camping is allowed as long as you leave the place as you found it. The van itself was a talking point and many people came to admire it. In addition, the owner very generously picked us up from the ferry and delivered me to the car hire place when I was swapping over on the last day. All in all - if you want wildlife, wild locations and to wake up near some of the great Neolithic or Iron Age sites that Orkney is famous for - this is a great way to travel!"

Al was a great pleasure to meet, friendly and very helpful. The camper van was clean and had everything we needed and more, we had a fantastic week traveling down the south coast and never once had any trouble with the van, will be using Al again in the future.

Having never hired a smaller campervan before we werent sure what to expect from Bruno the VW T5 Transporter. He did not disappoint. We took him across to France for 4 days and 4 nights for Euro 2016 and from minute one we knew he was the right choice.
Libby was incredibly helpful answering my numerous questions prior to booking and when we needed a quick pick up in order to make our Eurotunnel slot, she personified speedy efficiency.
Bruno himself was a delight and we were surprised at how comfortably he housed 4 adult males with the most impressive space saving techniques. The pop-up roof, swivel front seats, pull-down rear seats, easy assemble table, many clever cupboards and awning all contributed to making Bruno feel a lot bigger when parked up than he felt to drive. Indeed driving him was a treat in itself which we were grateful for as we covered a fair few miles on a variety of English and French roads! The smooth ride was enough to put passengers to sleep on multiple occasions!
5 stars for Bruno and if Im renting again any time soon I just hope Bruno is free!

We hired Jemima for a long weekend over a bank holiday and had a fantastic time. When we collected the van the handover was excellent, the owners provided all the information we needed and more. Plenty of space inside the van for two adults and two children, just bring some sleeping bags and you are away.

Lifelong dream fulfilled!! Dave was great and explained clearly everything necessary for our first experience driving and camping! Although we didnt tour around, we drove Yogita to the Bearded Theory festival in Derbyshire and thoroughly enjoyed the comforts she gave us once there. We were the envy of many and although the weather, luckily was perfect, chilling out back at the van and throwing open the back doors for a lie down, with a gentle breeze blowing to recuperate ready for the next headliner was spot-on what Id hoped for.
We did wonder how wed both fit onto the bed, as were both quite tall but we slept as well as anywhere - I recon as long as you take your favorite pillow, its fine! We all-in-all had a really relaxing, quality time and found the whole experience really fun and would definitely do it again - we promised to take our 8 year old son next time though, so it may not be as relaxing??!
Just note however that driving a vintage van if youve never done so before is soooo different and could not get any more basic, and the steering is good for your muscles, but as alarmed initially as I was, you soon get used to it and have no choice but to take it easy and go with the flow - and that is the best advise I can give - be prepared to chill out, be calm and enjoy yourself!!

Please find some photos attached. We hired out Milo for our wedding and had a fanatic day. Milo was flawless from the off. I had not driven one before but Gerald at Red Hatch gave me a great intro to the controls and gave me some useful hints and tips. It was very comfortable both to drive and spend the night in. There were some nice touches too such as full kit back that included all the utensils needed for cooking etc. It provided a really nice feature for our wedding and was admired by many of our guests, who we advised where to go if they wanted one! ‘Daisy’ was exceptionally well equipped and greatly admired everywhere we went.
Had a wonderful time in the New Forest definitely recommend the Roundhill site and the Huntsmen in Brockenhurst both wonderfully dog friendly too.

What a great time! This was a wonderful way to spend the half term break with my daughters. The owners couldnt help me enough. What an absolute treat, we hired Doris for the weekend and had a fabulous time. She came with everything we could possibly of needed (except a bathroom haha) and more. She was very reliable and comfortable and caught everyones eye, we got lots of attention and positive comments on how gorgeous she is, fab weekend and fab camper van, weve got the bug now.

Poseidon was a very easy ride, extremely comfortable and fitted with everything we needed. The sun came out as we left Falmouth and stayed with us for great weekend at - St Ives. Poseidon and Polmanter camp site highly recommended!

We hired Blu for a boys weekend away, three generations, and came home with some magical memories. The van is stylish, practical, and superbly maintained, and simply oozes character. Mark could not have been more helpful, he was relaxed but informative, and made every effort to ensure we enjoyed our time away.

It is worth remembering that this is a 40 year old vehicle, but once you do, it becomes very relaxing to simply enjoy the gentle pace, and allow others to overtake with an envious glance or wave.

I have no hesitation in recommending to others. Be warned, you might want to buy one after!

Lydden Hill, Kent

Had a great few days touring Wales with Daisy Bay. Realisation of a lifetime ambition to spend time in a classic VW camper and it didnt let us down. Very cool & lots of street cred with fellow campers and the family, but also very practical and a really nice step up from camping under canvas.
Excellent briefing from John at the pickup, showed us all the features of the van and the storage locations of all the kit - very professional and personable set-up.
Best lesson: learn to live at a more relaxed pace as quickly as you can and youll love your classic camper all the sooner! Wouldnt hesitate to recommend it!
