Had a great few days touring Wales with Daisy Bay. Realisation of a lifetime ambition to spend time in a classic VW camper and it didnt let us down. Very cool & lots of street cred with fellow campers and the family, but also very practical and a really nice step up from camping under canvas.
Excellent briefing from John at the pickup, showed us all the features of the van and the storage locations of all the kit - very professional and personable set-up.
Best lesson: learn to live at a more relaxed pace as quickly as you can and youll love your classic camper all the sooner! Wouldnt hesitate to recommend it!

We couldnt recommend Bruno enough, he was amazing! A smooth rider that gets a lot of attention on the road and and made our trip so special. So easy to drive and set up, he has everything anyone could ever need to complete their dream road trip. We took him to snowdonia for 2 nights over the bank holiday weekend. Easily fits 4 adults and he is top spec, with fridge, cooker, double bed and top of the range built in digital sat nav and radio that hooks up to your iPhone!
Owners are lovely and really helpful, they have looked after Bruno very well and I can assure you will not be disappointed.

We cant wait to book him again for our next trip :)))

Overall the experience was very positive and Betty Flo herself was wonderful and exceeded my expectations. I would definitely hire her again!

Awning
- because the forecast was rain for Saturday we tried to put this up Friday night as soon as we got there after a six hour drive which wasnt a great idea looking back. Both my partner and I have experience with tents but we could not figure out how to get the cross frame to go rigid with no guide pictures or instructions. You had mentioned the groundsheet needed to go down first so both of us were thinking that the poles locked into that but they didnt. Only when I packed away the tent on Saturday did I realise there was a picture of the awning on the bag (which would have been helpful on its own) but on a whim I pulled out the picture and
the instructions are on the back
. As soon as we read those we discovered that the pins act as the locking mechanism and the instructions are actually all we would have needed. Luckily it didnt rain and for a short weekend in good weather the awning really wasnt required.

Tip: It might be worth taking a copy of those instructions but even better would be a brief video on YouTube showing basic construction and attaching to van. It would also show people the size relative tot he van which might help them understand how useful it would be to them.

Alarm and Fob
- without doubt the number one annoyance. When parked up wed happily be going about our business and all of a sudden the alarm would go off and wed be panicking trying to find the keys. This happened late at night and in the early hours of the morning which isnt great on a campsite. It seems to be triggered by any movement in the front of the cab. The solution was to have the keys in the ignition and make sure the immobiliser was off. It seemed to take different button presses each time to make sure it stayed off. Once that was resolved we relaxed a lot more.

Tips: A spare key would have been nice as I was terrified of losing the key. Instructions on the buttons purpose and how to make sure immobiliser is onoff would be a godsend.


Driving
- The advice given on gentle use of the gears and brakes, etc was sot on. Betty drives really well. One challenge I had driving at night was that it is impossible to see the speed you are driving at!

Tip: A small luminous dot around the 65 mark would be helpful here.
Tip: Locking mechanism on petrol cap could do with a demo, its easy to find yourself unable to remove the cap.
Tip: Printed labels above each of the buttons would be potentially useful (above lightsheateretc)


Storage and beds
- Exceeded expectations for sleeping in.

Tips: We learned quickly there is an order to this.

1. Raise roof so you have headroom.
2. Dayparked use - put all bags you need access to in front footwells with items you frequently need between the seats (close to hand). Behind the chairs the duvets made for a nice nest for the children. Allother bags can be stored in the overhead bed section (lots of storage here)
3. Evening - before going out we made up the top bed moving any other bags stored there to the front seatdrivers area. Then we made up the bottom bed. Its important to take out anything from cupboards you will need access to at night or in the morning (teacoffeefood and washbags). We preferred top beds to the rear with heads to the front and this also provided standing space in the morning when children were still asleep. Easy to help the kids up and down from this position. When we got back to the van it was easy to get kids changed, teeth done and up into their beds. It worked really well and the kids slept really well.

Thats all I can think off from the top of my head.

We had an amazing time with ToniBaa. The van was so well equipped , other than bedding we didnt need a thing . It was our first time hiring a camper and my first time driving one , but the van ran so smoothly getting used to it didnt take long . Our 9 year old loved sleeping in the "roof" and even my girlfriend (whos constantly cold ) was nice and cosy . Paul and Clare were very friendly and helpful and they will be our first on our list when we hire a camper again. If your looking for a fun weekend you cant fail to enjoy yourselves in ToniBaa.

We had a great time in Indy in Pembrokeshire over the May Bank Hol. The van was fantastic, attracting lots of envious glances from other van owners wherever we went ! Very comfortable sleeping 2 adults, a teenager and a toddler - plenty of storage space and great ergonomic design....we cooked 2-3 mealsday in the van with no problems. Susie the owner was extremely friendly, helpful and flexible - a real pleasure to deal with. An overall 10 out of 10 positive experience which I strongly recommend and would definitely do again,

Ladyboy enjoyed a pampering weekend with my wife and son at the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne and thoroughly enjoyed journeys along the coastal roads to Beach Head and Hastings. Ladyboy was a very reliable and exciting camper to drive, luxuriously kitted out and a dream to spend time with, a fantastic experience. Wendy and her husband were very reassuring and accommodating to our pickupdrop off needs and were extremely welcoming, a real pleasure to have met.

We loved Bette! She was perfect for our wedding anniversary trip down to Wiltshire. We didnt need to go far to enjoy the fab countryside that England offers. The camper had everything we would need including washing up liquid and all the cooking utensils youll need. There was plenty of space for all our luggage, maybe we took too much?! And when you are parked up, put the roof up and you can store all your bags up there. We slept so well, the bed is big for a camper and the black out curtains are lovely! Thanks for a fab weekend in Bette - sorry we were having too much fun to take pictures!

We had a great Bank Holiday weekend with Flora despite a few technical hitches and less than desirable weather. Enjoyed days out along the East Sussex coastline and stayed at a fantastic campsite (Fairfields Farm, Pevensey www.fairfieldsfarm.com) Floras owners were great and helpful throughout the process. Would highly recommend renting Flora!

My wife and two boys, 8 and 6, have just hired Bruno for along week of adventure! We went down to Durdle Door in Dorset and had an amazing time in Bruno. We have hired a camper before and have thought about buying one while our boys are still young, and wanting the perfect camper, Bruno did not disappoint.

We arrived to collect him on Friday afternoon when he met us in mint condition, immaculately clean and ready to hit the open road. He drove well, was fully kitted out with every cooking utensil you could ever need and even came with a spare can on larger on board!

We had a great time in Bruno, and if we don’t buy a camper, we will be straight back to ask if we can hire him again next year!

Bruno, you were awesome and you have helped create some very happy memories. Thank you.

Good morning,

We did have a really great time with the camperbug van. We used it for a couple of days; the first day we used it for my husbands 30th birthday party as a photo booth and got some really amazing pictures and the next day him and I went for a little drive in the new forest which was really lovely as well. Id definitely hire it again.

I only have pictures with people in but I thought Id send them as it shows how well it worked as a photo booth!

Unfortunately we did not have a great experience. We hired \Daisy\ for our wedding day, and just before it was due to take the bride to the venue the clutch broke.
I know these things can happen, but the conduct of the campervan owner has been appalling. Once the van was returned we tried to contact the owner about the situation with no response and therefore no apology.
Not only did it cause a shadow on our special day, but the day after the wedding I (the groom) waited until 4pm for the van to be picked up, admittedly this was more the breakdown companies fault, but I wish I hadn\t of bothered due to the lack of response from the owners.
I guess I shouldn\t of been suprised really, as any communication prior to picking up the van was severely lacking, taking longer than 2 weeks for a simple email or voice mail response.

We hired Vinnie for a weekend and had a fabulous time. From the first moment of contact, Nick was incredibly friendly and helpful. We are campers but it is the first time we have camped in a VW van with 2 small children and a dog and so we were a little nervous. We had an absolutely wonderful weekend. The van was everything we had hoped for and exactly as described on the website. Nick was very helpful in explaining how it all worked. We would definitely hire this van again. We couldnt recommend Vinnie and Nick more highly. MW
