We hired Florence for a week to attend a festival and she was an absolute dream. Sharon and Martin are very lovely, accommodating people, and they make you feel incredibly welcome when you first arrive to collect the van. Florence is very clean and well maintained, and you have to look hard to find a spot of rust on her. She starts first time, is very easy to drive and has all the mod-cons you could hope for. Once we set up for camp I knew we were in for a comfortable week. The fridge ran off gas so our ciders were always cold - such a luxury at a festival! I couldnt recommend Florence highly enough. Shes a beautiful, retro van that drives much better than the older models but still has bags of charm. If youre thinking about booking her, stop thinking and do it before shes taken by someone else!!

Florence with the best view of Glastonbury

I would just like to absolutely praise Mike - for the rental of his T5 (Mountain). Hes a small business, and by the looks of things doing a roaring trade. Mike went through everything on the van before we left and was very accommodating to our pick up and drop off requirements. The van is extremely well maintained and an absolute pleasure to drive.

I hired a late model T5 camper - We had a great week in North Wales inspite of daily rain. On only one night did we have to get up and put down the top because the whole camper felt like a sail boat in a gale. The camper was well equipped and in very good condition. Marks service was excellent.

had a fantastic time in the van. the kids loved it - especially sleeping in the roof!
you get a real sense of freedom in one of these as its so easy to drive and pitch up just about anywhere.

We enjoyed a leisurely trip around Suffolk in Harold, visiting Southward, Dunwich, Sutton Hoo, Aldeburgh, Framlingham, Thorpness. Speed is not a factor in these older vans! He is well equipped and we were offered items from an extensive inventory. Life is easier if the weather is good, and you can do more outside the van, but then all that extra equipment takes up space if the weather is poor and you have to spend more time in the van - a balanced approach requires a certain weather forecast - and this is England after all!!

Its a different mentality from our usual camping breaks, as you have to pack everything up and secure it each morning in order to go anywhere. We limited cooking to boiling the kettle this time, but might try more if the weather is better another time. Comfortable overnight sleep once we had mastered getting the beds sorted, - the first night in the rain, it all seemed very complicated, the second night it seemed to take just a few seconds, but then it was dry so items could be put outside whilst the nighttime changeover was sorted. As with all such campers, dont expect anyone who needs to, can leave the van quietly during the night...! We felt that although there is accommodation for 4, at 2 adults and a (small) teenager we had hit maximum capacity.

Very helpful owners who responded well to one or two niggles we had.

We had a fantastic mini adventure in Winnie as a family of 5 to Anglesey. The engine sounds great and the kids really loved how she looks and the layout. The owner was great and lent us the stuff to camp such as an extra stove, table and portaloo and this made a real difference as the weather wasnt great the first night. Would highly recommend this for a family wanting a break away that want a camper with some character.

I hired Blu as a surprise birthday present for my husband so we could go to our daughters graduation and bring all her stuff home. The owner was super helpful in advance and helpfully let me change the dates. Blu was absolutely beautiful - superbly restored and wonderfully kitted out. It took a while to get used to the lack of power steering but once we had we had a fab journey. Definitely recommend.

We booked this campervan for our wedding day, the driver (I think he was called Paul?) Was polite and on time, was dressed nice and smart in a style that suited the campervan. The campervan itself was clean and well presented, it was everything we wanted and more. They even took us for a drive after the ceremony so myself and my new husband could have a little breather! Ive attached a couple photos people took of us with the van. Would highly recommend :D

We hired Blue Betsy from a lovely couple in Downend Bristol to take our daughter and her friends to their Record of Achievement ceremony at school and then our Son and his friends to Prom the same evening. Dealing with Camperbug was efficient and the site is easy to use. Once the hire was agreed then I dealt directly with the owners of Betsy and they could not have been more helpful and understanding of our hire requirements. They allowed us to visit their home (they only live a few streets away from us) to view the lovely Betsy before paying the hire fee. They gave useful advise on who should drive their beloved Betsy and her operational traits! This hire was problem free, a pleasure to organise and we will deifnitely be using the site again and hopefully hiring Betsy again for a longer period next time. After this experience I would wholeheartedly recommend this site to anyone looking to hire a Campervan. Thank you!

We hired Wilfster for a weekend away at Hurst View camp site near Lymington. The booking process was very simple, and George, Wilfs owner, made the collection and drop off very simple and convenient. Once I got used to the left hand drive and gears, Wilf was a pleasure to drive, very relaxing. The pop-up roof was easy to work as was the setting up of the beds. Wilf came with all the necessary equipment including table, chairs, a stove with gas, pots and pans etc and an awning, which we did not use. He does not have a leisure battery so the fridge is more of an ice box, but our stuff stayed cool with ice inside. My only negative comment would be that more wine glasses and mugs would be useful. Otherwise all was fab and Id recommend Wilf to anyone. George has another van, Wilma, who is orange.

Hello Carla
We had a great 2 days – stayed at Brundcliffe CL nr Buxton and Foufinside CS nr Parwich. The weather was fantastic and the pubs were even better. Many thanks for the bettyBluBay introduction booklet which was very helpful. Just a couple of suggestions – future drivers may need a little more time for a test drive, say round a car park before the handover – as it does take some time to adapt. The pop top roof was difficult to handle.

We collected Lola just outside Falmouth in Cornwall and toured for a week around the peninsular, ending up at a festival in Perranporth. Everything went very smoothly in the run up to hire, and the hand over of the van was just right. Once we got used to the new driving style, we really enjoyed the slower pace of life, and would not hesitate to recommend the website, the owners and Lola herself. She was immacuately presented, motored beautifully and had enough equipment for guests to join us for meals. A truly wonderful holiday. Thank you.

If you are looking for the original VW camper experience look no further. Brotchen is a wonderful bus who will transport you back to 1971 with style. We didnt stress about traffic jams or getting anywhere quickly, just chilled out and relaxed watching everyone point and smile as we cruised along. The van had everything we needed for a great weekend, Bianca and Chris the owners had provided lots of personal touches and even thought of an MP3 player with period music! If I had a bus this good I am not sure I could bring myself to hire it out!!

We had a great weekend driving around the North-East in this lovely camper van, with our two small children (2mth&3yr). The original interior has the added bonus of an inertia seat belt at the rear which was crucial for fitting both our childrens car seats. Martin and Jo were both very helpful and everything went smoothly.

We love Dorothy. A group of four of us drove her from London to Devon for the weekend to catch some waves at Croyde. She was incredibly comfortable, extremely stylish, attracted a lot of admirers, was completely reliable, and gets up to good speeds. Her amount of storage in various cupboards is ingenious, she easily carried our four surfboards and we had room to change into our wetsuits whilst sheltering from the wind. Dorothy is looked after immaculately by her lovely and very helpful owners, she has a huge amount of character, and she couldnt be more fun
