Our first camperbug experience so far and a very pleasing one, too:-)
Sarah was super quick in replying to our e-mails. She explained all details before we went off and the camper was super clean. Sarah thinks of everything you could possibly need for your trip, including all kitchen utensils, bedding, BBQ etc... The camper is not huge, but was perfect for two and the small and windy roads of northern Wales. All in all great service for a good price and a phantastic owner!

Had a fantastic and memorable weekend in Cruz down in Dorset with our 2 boys, they absolutely loved being in the van and this is an amazing California with everything you could need. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and collection and drop off was really easy and had lots of help and advice with very thorough hand over so we knew exactly what to do. Great fun in a great van :)

We would highly recommend hiring this van. The owners were absolutely brilliant in answering our queries, showing us around the van and making sure we had everything we needed for our few days away. The van is in excellent condition, very clean and well equipped. The location of the van is perfect for exploring the Jurassic coast. We had a great trip and thoroughly enjoyed this van.

We had a fantastic time with Flo, the driving experience to Norfolk brought back great memories of our Beetle days! Flo was very well equipped and comfortable and was great fun. Paul was very helpful and happy to chat about VWs, the whole experience reignited our love for classic VWs, so much so we bought a 7 Beetle last week!

Our campervan was older - 1988 - so you have to take that into account. however there were a couple of problems: couldnt get the gas heater to work at all, even with the instructions. Luckily we didnt go anywhere too cold - Loch Lomond was furthest north.
Van broke-down twice - first time (in Ireland) needed a fuel pump which was shipped within 24 hrs. 2nd time roadside assist got us going again. On second occasion, I noticed the hose to the vacuum advance on the distributor was off (not the cause of the break-down) - easy to put back on but had a hunch that it had been off for long time and thus our fuel consumption was very high and engine power reduced. Reattaching pipe changed consumption from 250 milestank to 300 miles per tank - think of the fuel money we could have saved!
The GPS navigation supplied was out of date so sent us on a couple of goose chases when roads or locations had changed. But 90% of the time was ok.
The folding tent - Quecha - supplied was of limited use, though the owner swore by it. We put it up once - when we were broken-down. It was so hard to fold up again we didnt use it again. It became a nuisance because we had to move it when setting up the bed, etc.
Oh yeah, the van was two days late getting to us because of a broken hand brake cable.
Still, the owner, Rob, went out of his way to help us during break-downs, etc. but it shouldnt have had the problem to start with.
It was a little stressful to drive because it lacked power steering, so we reduced our distances to reduce the stress. Also meant only one driver - me - because my wife couldnt cope without power steering.
Still, we had fun and it suited our needs. Small enough to fit into tight spaces and laneways, enough space for our needs for 6 weeks. We did 2900 miles. It was good value for money - pretty cheap compared to newer ones but you do have to make allowances for it being a 1988 model.
Oh yeah, the bikes supplied, gratis to make up for the two days late delivery - were great, good to ride and very handy when we didnt want to take the van into town, etc.
couple photos attached.

HIred Lennon for a prom which was a great hit! The camper van was immaculately presented. Easy communication with Dave, the owner, who made sure arrangements went to plan and arrived in plenty of time. Despite the pouring rain all had a fab time. Would recommend.

The trip with Cruz was just as great as we had hoped for, wonderful sunny easter days in southeast England. The van is in excellent condition, the kitchen is very well equipped. My Husband especially liked the Safari Chef. All kinds of cables for entertainment and board games.
Picking up and return of the van were uncomplicated, very friendly and generous. Thanks again for the maps and tips. It is easy to get to from central London by railway and a very short walk from the station.
So really the only thing missing was more time.
Thanks,
Lotta

"We picked the campervan up in Derbyshire and travelled to Caernarfon in Wales via Chester.
The VW campervan is very economical; Michelle explained how everything works in excellent detail. Very comfortable, had everything we needed for a lovely weekend away. We stayed at a lovely site called Riverside Camping and reached the top of Mount Snowdon.
Absolutely love this campervan, would highly recommend and will definitely be hiring again! Happy travels :)"

We had a fantastic experience using camperbug and Persie the campervan. The owner Sam was really helpful, organised and informative. We are so happy he trusted us to be the first people to use it on here. The campervan itself was in perfect working condition. Comfortable to drive, reliable and perfect to sleeplive in. I would definitely recommend using Persie as it is exactly what you would need and Sam is a great owner to work with.

Hired Henry for a week long Easter adventure to the Isle of Wright. Our seven year old daughter who doesnt normally like travelling in the car fell in love with Henry, as did we.
Andrew was great in helping us hire the van, especially as we asked at quite short notice. The van looks great and is also in excellent condition - it never let us down. It maintains most, if not all the original features but has a new stereo which we appreciated and had satnav, which took away the stress of me getting us lost.
Felt great being in Henry and getting waves from all the other VW vans. Also pleasantly surprised about how comfortable the beds were - much better than sleeping in a tent! Would recommend.

Me and my girlfriend had a great time ridding around Yorkshire with Geoffrey. We hired Geoffrey for 72 hours, we could state the time we wanted to pick him up and this dictated the time he had to be returned by.
We took Geoffrey to Scarborough for 2 nights and 1 night in Whitby. To start with Geoffrey was difficult to drive but this was because he is older than us, we are both 30 and Geoffrey is 38. Once we got used to each other we got on fine. This was the first time we had been in a classic VW campervan and it was enjoyable when Geoffrey turned heads, small children were especially fascinated with him, and you get waves from the few other VW campers on the road. We didn’t want to give him back.
Geoffrey is well equipped and if you remember that he is 38 years old you will have a great time.
Recommended campsites are; Cayton Village Caravan Park near Scarborough and Whitby Holiday park near Whitby
