The site does not provide specific amenities for youngsters, making it more suited for adults and older children. Set up camp on the level, well-spaced pitches, then sit back and take in the sights and sounds of barn owls nesting nearby, or enjoy a well-deserved alfresco meal at the decked picnic area with a lovely goldfish pond. The bubbling Sandbeck stream winds its way past the south of the campsite, while the gleaming River Brant rests to the east of the site. There are many day trips to enjoy from Poachers Patch, so pack in a lunch and get exploring. Visit Newark, approximately nine miles away, pop in at the Newark Museum, and then head out to see the numerous listed buildings in the town, including the Church of St. Mary Magdalene. Visit Lincoln for shopping, a cathedral, castle, and shopping, with quick stops at the towns of Sleaford, and Cogglesford Mill. End the evening with a sizzling barbeque meal around a flickering fire at the campsite, or head to the Generous Briton pub opposite the site and enjoy home-made food, and takeaway.
