Stamford, the nearest town, is picturesque and said to be one of the most perfect stone towns in the country, boasting rich history and numerous important medieval buildings that are certain to intrigue the history buff in the family. Hop on the Rutland Belle to take in the views from a different angle as soak in the incredible vistas and wildlife on an exciting boat trip. If walks are more your thing, there are 27 miles of gorgeous Rutland Water shoreline for gentle strolls.
