Holme Pierrepont Country Park houses the National Water Sports Centre and is a hidden gem located in Nottingham, brimming with river sceneries, and a whopping two hundred and seventy acres to stretch out and enjoy the freedom of the Nottinghamshire countryside. This water and land-based event centre is an excellent spot for families to get away from it all and take on adrenaline-pumping watersports ranging from rafting and tubing to turbo paddling and open water swimming. When you tire of the sparkling bodies of water, wander across the land-based activity centre for a range of outdoor adventures for campers young and old. Take on a friendly match of volleyball and badminton with another family or challenge the kids to a round of outdoor table tennis. Woodland adventure parks, an aerial adventure course and nature trails are just some of the exciting activities on offer. Once you’ve worked up an appetite head over to the country park café to refuel, next, stop at the regatta lake to observe the ongoing events like triathlons and canoe regattas. Despite its proximity to the buzzing city of Nottingham, the park remains nestled in the green countryside and offers a welcome break from townie activities. The site welcomes tents, caravans and campervan pitches that share access to a shower and toilet block, a washing up area, and a play area. Barbeques are encouraged, and canine companions are welcome to come along for a holiday.
