Fishing, camping and glamping are the order of the day at Oaklands Leisure and Fishery. The small family-run campsite is the perfect getaway for peaceful weekends of spectacular scenery, and heaps of peaceful woodland walks, lush countryside ideal for cycling and crumbling castles. The camping site rests on a whopping thirty-five acres of green fields, a mere ten minutes’ drive from the romantic hills of the beautiful Carding Mill Valley. Find supermarkets, pubs, cafés and restaurants in the town of Church Stretton. Stock up on meats, mushrooms and other bits and bobs for a sizzling barbeque back at the campsite. Perhaps the main draw at Oaklands Leisure and Fishery is a well-stocked two-acre lake brimming with mirror and common carp weighing in as much as 20lbs. Anglers with a current rod license can look forward to hours of relaxing course and fly fishing at the site set amid stunning natural scenery. The owners only permit barbless fly hooks and welcome day fishers and camping anglers all year round. Throw your catch on the campfire for a modest fee of £10 and enjoy an incredibly fresh al fresco meal. Owners Christine and Richard aim to offer guests with a tranquil setting to set up camp and enjoy the features available on-site and the enclosing area. The site accommodates non-electric pitches in wild woodland, on a sprawling meadow, and right by the fishing lake. Glampers can opt for the shepherd's huts which sleep two and four people respectively.
