Midsummer Caravan and Camping is a small, friendly campsite ideally tucked away in the romantic rolling countryside of York. This adults-only site an ideal spot for a rural escape without the tots, so come on by, set up camp and sit back as you soak in the laid-back atmosphere and take in the picturesque surrounds. There’s heaps of space to stretch out and catch up on holiday reading or laze in the sun with a cold drink of choice in hand. You won’t have to worry about being interrupted by hyperactive kids or head the shrieks and shouts of toddlers at play. Guests are ideally placed an easy 1.8 miles from the peaceful village of Thornton le Dale, affording shops for camping essentials and a pub for a chinwag with cheery locals over a sweating pint. There are heaps of walks crisscrossing through the enclosing valleys and woods, making the village an ideal day trip of the outdoorsy types. For more open-air pursuits like horse riding, hiking, cycle trails, and gliding skies, rumble over to the beautiful North York Moors National Park less than twenty minutes away. For less challenging walks, stroll by the riverside with a stop for a picnic in a shady nook, or lace-up your walking shoes and take a stroll through the sprawling, emerald landscapes around the site. This tranquil site welcomes tents, campervans, motorhomes and caravans. The usual facilities include a toilet block, hot showers, a washing up area, and chemical disposal. Barbeques encouraged, and dogs are welcome.
