St John Inn is a fab adults-only site next to a pub garden, a mere five-minute drive from the nearest beach. The camping area rests on a conservation area, enclosed by trees and hedges, providing serene settings for shaking off modern life's stress. The pub site serves as an excellent base for exploring the Corish coastline, and there are real ales, cider and lager at your fingertips from Thursdays to Sundays. Boring evenings at the campsite are not a worry as the cheery owners' Gill and Rob conduct regular events. Sign up for an eventful evening of trivia quizzes, fish and chip, dancing and music ensuring both regulars and campers have a whale of a time as they mingle with other guests and sip on heavenly brews. Work off the excess carb consumption the following morning with scenic walks at Torpoint set an easy ten-minute drive away. Take a stroll around the stunning Rame peninsula, or stagger to the nearest three-mile stretch of sandy beach, spread out a blanket and work off the hangover with the tried and the tested hair of the dog method, preferably with brews stocked from the base. If you're not quite up to tasting alcohol just yet, brush off the cobwebs with a refreshing dip. Dogs most welcome.
