Meadow View Campsite is a lovely, small campsite located on the fringes of the picturesque village of Wicken. The friendly, clean camp is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the hidden delights of the East Anglian countryside. The site works as an excellent stop for a short break and enjoys a convenient location just one an hour from the bustling cosmopolitan capital London. Meadow View is a relatively green site enclosed by lush surrounds like the Wicken Fen Nature Reserve. The reserve is a lovely wetland habitat made up of extensive farmland, mist-clad marshlands, and reed beds that house a wealth of flora and fauna like insects, plants and birds like owls, kingfishers, dragonflies, water lilies and other critters. Explore the reserve along meandering walking trails, pop into the visitor centre and stop for a quick bite at the visitor centre. Pedal along the scenic cycling paths that meanders along the gleaming river to Ely, or explore the stunning fens countryside along the Lodes Way. Stock up on camping essentials or head out for an urban break in the nearby towns and cities like Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Ely. The usual facilities like a toilet block, showers, washing up area and free Wi-Fi are available at the site. Guests are encouraged to enjoy campfires and bring along cooped up canines in need of a vacation. The beautifully maintained campsite offers guests spacious grass or hardstanding pitches, camping pods (no pets), and an American on-site touring caravan. Guests can also look into booking Christie, the two-bedroom static caravan (no pets), or the pet-friendly static home, Mags. The fenland village of Wicken is a beautiful location for nature lovers and home to the Wicken Fen National Nature Reserve – a wetland habitat of diverse landscapes and thriving wildlife. There are several walking trails and a café for refreshments. Follow the River Lode to Upware, dine at the aptly named Five Miles from Anywhere No Hurry Inn, or kick back on base around the campfire with Fido.
