Rowter Farm

Nestled in the shadow of the Mam Tor, Rowter Farm is a splendid base located at the head of the verdant Hope Valley, an estimated 230 above sea level. Guests can enjoy a wonderful sense of space while soaking in the striking views just above Winnats Pass, making it an excellent base for hardy hikers who want to summit Mam Tor. The nicely grassed, flat site is perfect for free-spirited explorers, who can set up camp in a secluded corner of choice. Up to five caravan and forty tent bases are available at the base: however, the site only gets busy on the Bank Holiday weekends. Amenities are pretty basic, yet none of the campers seem to be too bothered by it, as they are too busy soaking in the views and enjoying a slower pace of life. Communal facilities include toilets, hot showers, washing up area, drinking water, and recycling conveniences. There is a farm shop supplying basic food supplies like hot chocolate, tea and coffee. Kick back and sip on a cold beverage as you observe paragliders swooping from the tops when the weather is fine. There are heaps of scenic walking routes for days you feel like stretching your legs, and several exciting caves like the Blue John cavern located an ideal mile or so from the base. Pets most welcome.
