Owners Tim and Bridget decided to bring over the delights of camping in the wilds of Mongolia and purchased the yurt or ger on their journey. Tim and Bridget plonked down the tent in the scenic surrounds of the Wye Valley, and while it may be quite a contrast from the jagged peaks and plateaus of the Himalayas, it certainly earns its status as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Drakeford family own a smallholding on which the yurt rests, surrounded by verdant wooded dells that border the meandering River Wye. Your home away from home comes furnished with original painted furniture, a wood burner for keeping the cold at bay, and cosy settings owing to thick lining made of yak and sheep wool. Tastefully added rugs and hangings add to the overall charm. There is ample sleeping space for four adventurers with a kingsize bed and a decorated Mongolian sofa bed furnished with two mattresses. A rustic building nearby houses the kitchen, shower and loo facilities. Collect firewood from the apple orchard and enjoy alfresco cooking on the brazier. Well-behaved canines welcome but must remain within the fenced area owing to livestock in the surrounding fields.
