This scenic adults-only site is enclosed by lush valleys and rolling hills, offering spectacular sunsets, incredible dark skies, and lovely views from every pitch. There’s plenty of space for turning, a pot washing area, a large entrance gate and an indoor seating facility with seating for guest use. The lovely settings paired with thriving wildlife in the park including rabbits, buzzards, and sparrowhawks belies the proximity of the campsite to lively cities like Leicester (twelve miles away), plus London (two and a half hours distance), and a trifling seven miles from the town of Market Harborough. There’s plenty to do around the site. Hone equestrian skills at the village of Mowsley, or train at the riding school in Market Harborough. Walkers can amble into Mowsley, and take a beautiful stroll to Laughton Hills, following the Grand Union Canal towpath to the must-see Foxton Locks, a vital part of Leicestershire’s boating heritage. Refuel with a well-deserved pint, and a delicious home-made meal at the Foxton Locks Inn, or spread out a blanket and enjoy a picnic in the shade at the country park at the crest of the locks. End an eventful day back at the pooch-friendly site with a sunset barbeque. Settle down to a sizzling dinner as the amber sky gives way to twilight, and the stars begin to peek out.
