Market Rasen Racecourse Camp Site is an excellent base for families, couples, and outdoorsy types, serving as a superb centre-point for exploring the Lincolnshire Wolds while resting opposite a racecourse. The delights of the buzzing town of Lincoln lies a mere fifteen miles away, and regular bus and train links eliminate the stress of securing parking space and dealing with bumper-to-bumper traffic during the buzzing summer months. Walkers are invited to lace up their walking shoes and settle in for scenic walks along popular trails like the Viking Way and the Lindsey Trail, which extend over a 69-mile route through the varying greenery of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Both cyclists and walkers can tackle part of the entire length of the Lindsey Trail. A forty-minute drive leads to the coast and several aviation sites, so feel free to hop in the car and rumble along for adventures further afield. Warden Sarah is at hand to offer a warm welcome and ensure guests are shown around the site, and the helpful staff brim with excellent pointers on the local area. Outstanding features on the park include a nine-hole golf course, a splendid new children’s play park, and spacious, primarily flat pitches for relaxed camping stays. Pets are most welcome, and there is a large field plus woodland walks to keep cooped up canines entertained.
