Fordhall Organic Farm is a private, friendly site that serves as an excellent base for campers searching for a lovely, stress-free stay in the countryside. The spacious campsite rests on an extensive 140-acre organic farm, a mere 2-miles from the lively town centre of Market Drayton, which rests in the stunning Shropshire’s Tern Valley. The area around the site is perfect for hours of exploration and adventure in Shropshire. Kick start your stay with strolls at Wollerton Old Hall Garden Hodnet Hall Gardens, both located a mere 10-minute drive from the site. Campers with a taste for their tipple can tour Joule’s Brewery, located just two miles from the campsite. Market Drayton is also a great place to pick up gingerbread, and the town is known as the home of the spicy biscuit owing to numerous bakeries that used to operate in the area. Once you tire of exploring, mosey back to base and unwind on England’s first community-owned farm, which opened shortly after World War II. Foodie needs are sorted on-site with the grub at Arthur’s Kitchen and supplies for barbeques at the farm shop. The edible garden is excellent for a stroll and a quick snack of currants and gooseberries. Sorry, no pets allowed.
