The Barn at Easington is a small, peaceful campsite set out on a lush thirty-acre farm and enjoys an ideal location on the stunning Durham Magnesian Limestone Plateau, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site rests on the fringes of the Hawthorn Dene nature reserve and is a short scenic walk through green fields to the small beach at Hawthorn Hive and the Durham Heritage Coast. The village of Easington is a few miles away making it easy to pop in for camping essentials or a frothy pint at the village pub. The campsite itself doubles as an outdoor educational centre and hosts music, arts, dramas and family events as well as offering outdoorsy holidays. The Barn offers a range of camping accommodation to suit a variety of group sizes, travel needs and budgets. Two swish glamping pods feature a kitchen, bathroom, underfloor heating and a private fire pit for soaking in the sunsets and alfresco dining. Two static caravan holiday homes enjoy a secluded location and offer spectacular vistas over the glittering sea, mist-clad woods, and fertile fields. A private wild camping area accommodates tents. Let the tots join the staff at feeding time and offer hens and wee piglets their daily meals. Horse mad campers can look forward to camping next to fields of majestic horses, which are sure to try and nose around the tents when possible. The site also holds heaps of family-friendly activities to keep campers young and old entertained for many an hour. Head back to base at the golden hour to soak in the sunset as you huddle around a campfire and toast marshmallows. Barbeques are encouraged so feel free to enjoy an alfresco meal. Pets welcome.
