The peaceful campsite looks over the dramatic coastline, resting mere minutes from magnificent dunes, caramel-coloured sands, and swooping birds. Amble southward to Beadnell or move northward to Seahouses, where boats whizz over to the cluster of Farne Islands, famed by iconic and well-loved national treasure broadcaster Sir David Attenborough, who noted the place as his top spot in the UK to observe nature. Animal lovers are encouraged to look for grey seals sunning themselves on the shore, while colourful puffins keep an eye on all below from the craggy cliffs. Bikers will find plenty to explore by pedalling along the Coast and Castles and National Cycle Routes, which meander past the gates of the campsite. Northumberland is a county steeped in history, brimming with castles of all sizes, including Alnwick Castle and Bamburgh Castle. Make your way back to the base to unwind and refuel after an active day of sightseeing, gazing up at the lovely sunset sky, a cold brew of choice in hand. Beadnell Bay Campsite welcomes both tents and touring vehicles. Dogs are welcome.
