The spacious family-friendly campsite is just half a mile from Hadrian's Wall and enjoys proximity to the buzzing town of Carlisle and the picturesque village of Gretna Green. Guests are ideally positioned for easy access to local amenities and attractions. Carlisle boasts of a majestic castle, a medieval cathedral, and a host of historical attractions, so feel free to head over for an urban escape. Soak in stunning upland scenery of the North Pennines, Lake District and Eden Valley as you chug along in the Carlisle-Settle railway which reaches its final stop in the striking Yorkshire Dales National Park. Outdoorsy types can enjoy easy access to the stunning Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is perfect for long and short strolls under the clear blue skies. Lake District is an ideal forty minutes away, providing heaps of walking, cycling, biking, and sailing opportunities. Soak in beautiful countryside vistas, and get acquainted with the scenic surrounds as you follow meandering walking and cycling paths. History buffs can explore the stunning Lowther Castle and Gardens as well as the National Trust's Wordsworth House and Gardens. Head back to base to unwind in your camping cabin or spacious tent pitch and make use of the fire-pits and barbeques at the site for no charge. Pets welcome.
