Nestled at the bottom of the Coniston mountains, the hostel serves as a cracking base for action and adventure, with quick access to numerous open-air pursuits like walking, climbing, biking, hiking, canoeing, sailing and gorge scrambling, all located right on your doorstep. Active adventurers can don walking shoes and explore limitless walking and biking routes, snaking through the scenic surroundings. Families can get in on the action with low-level walks and rides. Tire the nippers out with a visit to thrilling courses at Go Ape in Grizedale Forest, or browse the exhibits at the Ruskin Museum. Guests who want to learn horse riding or enjoy exploring the area on bridleways can find an excellent horse at Spoon Hall and Crook Farm.
