Blaithwaite House is a spacious, family-friendly site providing guests with a delightful slice of the stunning Cumbrian countryside, an ideal 10-minute drive from the buzzing market town of Wigton. The campsite rests on the grounds of Blaithwaite House, a sprawling 200-acre country estate boasting 50-acres of lush woodland for frolics, plus a winding walking trail covering 2-miles. Outdoor enthusiasts can head out for more open-air exploration and sightseeing among the renowned landscapes of the Lake District National Park, located an ideal 10-minute drive away. For a change of scenery, make your way to the Bassenthwaite Lakes, located just 20-minutes away, and explore lakeside paths, take in the vistas from the water on boat hire, or sign up for tours and tastings at the Lakes Distillery. More water-based antics are available at Derwentwater, set an easy half-hour distance away. Get out on the water at Ullswater Steamer and drink in the vistas of the highest peaks in the area, or enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding and sailing. If you decide to catch your breath post-exertion, kick back on your soft or hardstanding pitch with optional electricity and soak in the views. Cook up something delicious at the barbeque and firepit area or decamp to the nearest local pub 5-minutes away. Pets most welcome.
