Hale Farm Campsite

Hale Farm Campsite

Located: Campsites in chiddingly, East Sussex

Hale Farm Campsite is a family-run site on a peaceful working farm in East Sussex, providing roomy traditional camping at the head of the Cuckmere Valley on the Weald Way. Free-spirits will love the opportunity to set up camp in a corner that takes their fancy, as there are no set pitches on the premises – pick your spot and set up camp. This welcoming 56-acre working farm site enjoys a central location sandwiched between South Downs National Park and Kent’s High Weald. It offers guests access to a large open meadow where one will see thin threads of campfire smoke wafting lazily up to the star-studded sky. The field itself is enveloped by mature hedges and trees, with a flock of Ryeland sheep managing the grass levels throughout the year. No more than twenty tents are allowed at any time, ensuring space, peace and a lovely traditional feel that becomes a tent-only camping escape. Kids have ample room to roam as the site is safe from roads and vehicles so encourage some time away from screens and textbooks. Luxury lovers can live it up in the sole refurbished shepherd’s hut, which features a full-size bed, a fitted kitchenette and a log burner for toasty evenings. Stock up on fresh sausages, bacon and free-range eggs directly on the farm, and settle in for an evening barbeque or toast marshmallows around the fire. Sorry, no pets are allowed.
