Blackbarn Farm is a compact, friendly site set out a spacious field behind a farm, a reasonable distance from the road. The campsite is quiet and non-commercial, giving campers an ideal setting for escaping the hubbub of the cities and modern life, so go ahead and kick back on this charming small scale campsite. Soak in fantastic scenery as you settle down for a relaxing stay, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the surrounding fields sprinkled with grazing sheep, curious geese, and chickens who supply fresh eggs for breakfast and other meals. There is a small shop on the premises selling meat and jam produced on the farm for good value, and a nearby vineyard stocks a range of excellent wines – perfect to accompany those fresh eggs and bread. The hospitable owners often earn rave reviews, and nothing is too much trouble for the friendly couple. Small ones are welcome to feed the chickens in the morning and help the farmer collect eggs, giving them a taste of farm life and the chance to get away from screens and textbooks. The field itself is ideal for frolicking and playing, and there is some playground equipment to go with oodles of green open space. Blackbarn Farm has five roomy grass plots with electric meters for tents and caravans. Standard amenities include a toilet block, hot showers, a pot washing area, drinking water taps, and chemical disposal. Sadly, no pets are allowed at present.
