Once the kids have cuddled Pegga Pig, make your way to more family-friendly attractions nearby. Longdown Activity Farm is an excellent spot for grooming ponies, feeding baby goats, watching Friesian cows being milked and other animal-themed activities. If you’ve got a particularly animal-mad child or two, the Marwell Zoo, with over 200 rare species ranging from snow leopards to hippos, is a fantastic place for more animal adventures. Bird watchers can marvel at the magnificent winged creatures at the Hawk Conservancy Trust, a cracking spot with over 22-acres of woodland and wildflower meadows. Urban days out are possible at Romsey, the closest market town with shops and the chance to visit one of the best cathedrals in England.
