Church House Wild Camping

Church House Wild Camping

Located: Campsites in Dereham, Norfolk

Church House Wild Camping is the place to be if you prize simple camping and the chance to get back to nature. Embrace the wild side of north Norfolk, where big skies, green open spaces, wooded fields, sleepy hamlets and an abundance of wildlife are the orders of the day. The wide sandy beaches of Cromer and Sheringham are an easy 40-minute drive away, serving as an excellent spot for days out with the family. Stroll along the pier at Cromer, walk the dunes and try your hand at gliding with the rolling waves at a surf school. If you prefer to remain dry, hop in a boat at Hunstanton and observe basking seal colonies followed by a well-earned meal at one of several lovely seaside restaurants serving up a range of dishes with fresh seafood. Angling types can go directly to the water to secure their catch, bringing along gear and bait for sea fishing excursions. For more local and not so local wildlife experiences, take a stroll through Sea Life Hunstanton, a home for rescued otters, penguins and seals. Mosey back to base with carrying bags stuffed with marshmallows, meats and other bits for sing-alongs around a campfire at sunset or dinner under the stars. The Church House Wild Camping pitches are spacious, tucked away on a tree-lined field, with a compost toilet nearby. Pets are welcome throughout the year.
