Cavick House Farm is a lovely, green, and quiet campsite nuzzled on a small working farm in the rolling South Norfolk countryside. The beautiful site rests an ideal 5-minute trot from the historic town of Wymondham, which holds the well-known Wymondham Abbey, the Norfolk Railway station with steam train rides in summer and rides to Dereham. A sheltered 2-acre field contains sizeable grass pitches with electric hook-ups for small campervans, motorhomes and caravans. Facilities are limited to the basics, including drinking water points, chemical disposal, battery charging, and recycling conveniences. There is ample space for awnings, stretching out, and room for the young ones to scamper about and enjoy a sense of freedom not found in the smog-filled cities. Take the young ones over to make friends and feed the resident donkeys, sheep, and four inquisitive goats. A flock of chickens often come over to have a nose around the guests or energetically scratch away at the soil. Free-range eggs are available for purchase at the Egg Shed, alongside homemade preserves, homemade cakes and scones, fresh coffee, plus gifts and cards. Use the site as your centre-point for exploring the stunning surrounds, including scenic strolls along the shimmering River Tiffey and boat rides in the renowned Norfolk Broads, which brims with wildlife. Dogs on leads are most welcome.
