The Arthurian Centre

The Arthurian Centre

Located: Campsites in Camelford, Cornwall

The Arthurian Centre is a small and peaceful site with such lush open spaces it transports one back to the open-air fun and frolicking of their younger days. This roomy site rests in Slaughterbridge near the medieval market town of Camelford in North Cornwall, and rests on twenty well-maintained acres around the Arthurian Centre, and boasts scenic views over the shimmering Camel River Valley and the windswept Bodmin Moor. Campers are most welcome to access The Arthurian Centre site at no cost and look at the inscribed stone, battle and Avalon that date as far back as AD540. Stroll through the fields where King Arthur and Mordred met for their final battle, and potter around the 16-acre site, soaking in over 1500 years of rich history. There is something for everyone, from digital information to children's quizzes and gift shops, ensuring a laidback yet educational family escape. The young ones will have heaps of fun observing wildlife in its natural habitat, making new friends at the children's play area, and building dens from trees and twigs. The adults can follow the 500-meter route through woodland alongside the sparkling river, smell the flowers in the Lady Falmouth's Secret Garden, and snack on tea and cake at the tearoom. Standard amenities include toilets, showers, a laundry room, plus a fire pit and barbeque area. Dogs are welcome.
