For family-friendly wild camping on the scenic Bodmin Moor, make your way to the friendly Colliford Lake Park Campsite. This spacious site welcomes only tents and serves as a non-electric base for guests who want to escape the complexities of modern life. Anglers can enjoy private access to a lovely, gleaming lake for peaceful hours of brown trout fishing – what an excellent way to while away the hours. Guests can savour the delights of a slower pace of life as they stretch out and unwind on this twenty-acre, secluded, moorland site, that affords direct access to the Lake of Clifford. Watersports are not permitted on the lake: however, there is a waterpark at Adrenalin Quarry for exciting family days out and about. The famed Jamaica Inn, immortalised by author Daphne du Maurier and her novel of the same name. The inn is a ten-minute drive from the site and features a smugglers museum as well. If you’re not in the mood for socialising, why not heat the charcoal for alfresco grilled meals and kick back as you settle in for a quiet evening at the base. Fishing folk are welcome to grill the days catch, and all camping essentials are available at the supermarkets in Clifford, a fifteen-minute drive away. Sorry, no pets permitted at the site.
