Marina Base Campsite is a tranquil campsite in Lydney Marina. It offers guests the freedom to pitch a tent or park a touring vehicle in a lovely waterfront location with unspoiled vistas of the glittering canal and wildlife on its peaceful banks. Sit back in your outdoor chair, and watch as kingfishers swoop down from the branches and herons balance on one leg, waiting for fish and insects to wander within reach. The owners warn that Marina Base may not be the best spot for young adventurers because it is right next to the canal. Make the site your base for exploring the verdant Forest of Dean, head out for a ride on a steam train into Parkend, or hop on the train to tour Cheltenham, Gloucester, Chepstow and Cardiff. Pets are welcome, and the open grounds are ideal for cycling, dog walks, and gentle strolls.
