The Bell Inn is a lovely pub site nestled in the heart of the Mendip Hills, serving as a fantastic base for walkers and families searching for a peaceful yet centrally located base for fun-filled days out. The picturesque pub holds a level rustic camping field at the rear for tent campers with basic amenities and charges to reflect this. There are communal portaloos, showers, sinks and a tap supplying drinking water to 14 tent plots. Landlord James is at hand to extend a warm welcome and answer all your questions before showing you the assigned plot. Guests are most welcome to enjoy the warmth of a flickering campfire, so feel free to ask James for a fire pit and logs for the duration of your stay. Make use of the site’s fantastic yet quiet location for exploring unique, must-see areas, including historical hotspots, like Glastonbury, Stonehenge, Avebury, and Bath. Perhaps the best thing about setting up camp at The Bell Inn is your staggering distance from a lovely 200-year-old inn serving a range of scrumptious breakfasts, lunches, evening meals, and enticing desserts. The team will go out of their way to ensure all guests have excellent meal options, even creating vegetarian dishes that are not on the menu. What better way to end the day than by socialising around the fire pit as late as you please? Dogs are welcome.
