The buzzing town of Wincanton was once a stopover for many a weary traveller who would change horses, drink, and eat before resuming travels to London and South West England. Today the town is just as handy as a stopping place for wanders in London and Exeter. The A303 is within easy reach, affording quick access to campers who wish to embark on journeys further afield. The cheery family who owns the site has been on this welcoming farm for generations and extend a warm welcome to all adventurers who want nothing more than pitch, park or glamp on the peaceful grounds while soaking in the sights and sounds of the scenic surroundings. Communal amenities include hot showers, restrooms, compost toilets, a washing up area, charging conveniences and recycling. A small grocery store on the premises stocks essentials. Campfire sand barbeques are more than encouraged, and lively Wincanton rests a mere five-minute drive away – perfect for stocking up on bangers and bits for the grill. Logs are available for keeping fires roaring while guests marvel at the views out over King Alfred's Tower. The kids will enjoy petting farm animals like sheep, goats and chickens. Canine companions are more than welcome to stay with well-behaved owners.
