Stowford Manor Farm is a friendly family-run farm site nestled in a charming and equally peaceful medieval hamlet on the shimmering River Frome. Camping sorts who prefer remote and tranquil settings with oodles of green countryside to explore and eye will find some of the finest rural scenery on this welcoming site with river swimming. The site rests in a relatively unknown yet interesting area, ensuring a quiet space for soaking up the views and enjoying the varied attractions from your position on the border between Somerset and Wiltshire. The site consists of a lovely 13th-century farmhouse with an accompanying mill that provides the backdrop for two roomy camping fields bisected by a burbling stream. Guests can cool off in the clear water or enjoy several water-based antics, including paddling and boating. If that seems like too much effort for your laidback escape, spend your afternoon in the manicured garden where you can sip on cream teas as you watch butterflies flitter between blooming flowers and hens scratch the soil around the millpond. Amenities, though limited, are spotless and consist of toilet blocks, hot showers, a pot washing area, drinking water taps, and chemical disposal. Well-behaved pets are most welcome.
