Botany Camping is a small, cosy campsite nestled amid the leafy greenery of sprawling Wiltshire farmland, a mere five-minute drive from the delights of the Longleat Safari Park and just twenty-five minutes from the mysterious standing stones of Stonehenge. The back to basics site offers guests the option of traditional camping on non-electric grass bases with access to basic and sustainable amenities, including compost loo’s, a urinal for gents, a basin for washing hands, and two roomy family shower rooms equipped with hot water and sinks. The owners have also included a washing up area with a drainer and hot water. The views are pretty spectacular and command attention, so feel free to swap days out with relaxing stays at the base, complete with a bevvie of choice in hand. The cheery manager, Crispin, is ever at the base with a generous nature, making him the go-to man for sorting out your queries and travel tips. Each roomy base holds heaps of space for stretching out and comes kitted with a firepit for alfresco sizzles at any time of the day. The stunning rural surroundings ensure perfect nights of starry skies, owing to its rural position with no light pollution. Sorry, no pets allowed on the premises.
