Torridon Campsite

Torridon Campsite

Located: Campsites in Dingwall, Highland

Blend the thrills of wild camping with the conveniences of mod cons at the friendly, secluded Torridon Campsite. This lovely site welcomes only tents and lies tucked away on a small field at the entrance to the picturesque village of Torridon. Despite its location opposite the Torridon Countryside Centre, this small campsite affords a remote and rustic vibe owing to small features like a thick growth of shrubs, pines and Rowan trees sheltering the camping area from the road. The owners encourage guests to build campfires using no wood but branches and twigs lying on the grounds of the campsite. The site does not take bookings, and plot availability relies on a first come first, served basis. There is no charge to stay at this tranquil campsite, and the basic toilet and shower block are located outside the main gate as they are open to both the public and the campers at the site. Spend your days wandering across the spectacular landscape that brims with sweeping, glittering lochs, imposing snow-capped mountains and bubbling streams. The pristine area will delight walkers and climbers with a wealth of trails for adventurers of all ages and abilities. Take a challenging hike up one of Torridons hills and enjoy jaw-dropping views from the top. Enjoy more taxing walks in the company of an experienced guide. Head back to base to huddle around the crackling campfire and watch as the sun sets behind the majestic Liathach which reaches out to the heavens from the northern perimeter of the site.
