The small, pet-friendly Northern Lights Campsite rests on a croft within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, affording spectacular views out over the shimmering waters of Little Loch Broom, the pretty village of Badrallach and the shapely mountain of Beinn Ghiobhlach. Owned by the cheery Mike and Ethel Elliot, Northern Lights Campsite is a work of love and took the owners over six years to finally obtain the required planning permission to build a house in the stunning area. You’ll understand the Elliot’s determination to settle down in the picturesque village of Badcaul as soon as you step foot on the site. The constant changes of lighting bring out the varying hues of purples, blues and greens of the enclosing countryside that consists of romantic Highland backdrops. Sit back and take in the dramatic scenery of the mountains and the coast from this peaceful site that offers just twelve plots, of which eight are furnished with electric hook-ups. The rugged, beautiful natural landscapes are home to a variety of birdlife, red deer who often have a nose around the site and porpoise that play in the sparkling waters of the loch below. Tents, caravans and motorhomes are welcome. Back to basics facilities include a toilet block, hot showers and drinking water points.
