Arran may be a small island: however, it’s quite challenging to understand how such a remote retreat can offer so much. Runach Arainn (which means secret Arran in Gaelic) is a family-operated site offering well-equipped Scottish made Yurts of both eighteen feet and twenty-foot diameters. The owners provide just three units set on the banks of Kilmory Water, within the grounds of an old rector’s house constructed in the 1600s. The larger yurts sleep up to six guests while the smaller one sleeps a total of four wanderers. Each fully-equipped unit comes furnished with everything a camper will need for a relaxed holiday including towels, bedding, cooking utensils and crockery. A cosy wood-burning stove and a substantial stack of logs enable guests to create a snug atmosphere on cold nights.
