The family-run South Whittlieburn Farm is a scenic smallholding site set on a peaceful working sheep farm in the lush Brisbane Glen. Owner Katie is more than happy to welcome campers looking for an extended stay and adventurers parking up for an overnight stop on an exciting Scotland escapade. Guests can set up tents, or rumble in on caravans, motorhomes plus campervans and set up camp on a half-acre field. The site provides grass and hardstanding touring pitches with electric hookups on a slightly sloping field that looks out over the green countryside sprinkled with grazing horses and sheep. The free-range chickens provide fresh eggs that are available for sale. Pair the eggs with fresh meat and other barbeque bits purchased from the lively seaside resort of Largs, and enjoy a pleasant barbeque meal under the sparkling stars. To eliminate a commercial camping feel, the facilities on-site are basic. They consist of toilets, hot showers, a washing up area, ice pack freezing conveniences, charging services, and chemical disposal points. Dogs are more than welcome to join in the fun, and the farm track nearby acts as the perfect place for pooches to scamper after curious critters, and enjoy a pawsome outing. Swap the quiet site for a day out at Largs which boasts of excellent eateries, intriguing shops, scenic boat trips, and spectacular sea views.
