The small, Caravan and Club certified Auchenfranco Camping and Caravan Site extends over one and a half acres. It offers guests spacious pitches, romantic countryside views and heaps of seclusion owing to the flowerbeds, shrubs and trees tactfully positioned between pitches. The adults-only campsite is clean, well-maintained, open all year round, and offers quick access to nearby outdoorsy pursuits such as fishing, watersports and the inviting coastline. The site itself is rather large and allows quick access to the loch set in secure woodlands, making it excellent long walks with the fur baby in tow. The owners are often at hand to welcome campers, show them around the site and answer queries about the local area as well. Nothing is too much trouble. Private and peaceful, Auchenfranco is the perfect spot to pitch a tent, or roll up in a motorhome, and enjoy the sights and sounds of local birdlife and wildlife. The back-to-basics site does not offer shower and loo facilities: however, a porta-loo is available if required at a small charge. Your first impression is sure to be a lasting impression as the fantastic, serene site that indubitably lives up to its description. The only noise you’ll hear is that of the birds and wildlife around. The owners also sell fresh eggs and homemade jam which is a must-try.
