Mossband Caravan Park

Mossband Caravan Park

Located: Campsites in Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway

Small and family-friendly, Mossband Caravan Park rests in the heart of Dumfries and Galloway, making it an ideal position to discover the hidden delights of the area. The campsite once served as a railway station on the Dumfries to Dalbeattie railway line until the Beeching Report in 1963. The British Rail as it was known began selling off the land, actual station and railway workers cottages throughout the sixties and a short while later the site transformed into a small touring park. Perfectly positioned in the romantic countryside of South-West Scotland, the peaceful, rural campsite lies on the fringes of the picturesque village of Kirkgunzeon and welcomes tents, caravans, campervans and motorhomes. Enjoy quick access to both Dumfries (an estimated eight miles) and Dalbeattie (four miles away), as well as spectacular panoramic views of the lush rolling hills that look out south to the stunning Solway Coast. A wealth of excellent biking trails, serene woodland walks and quiet coastal strolls are all mere minutes away by car. The owners accommodate grass and hardstanding pitches with or without electric hookups. Site facilities include hot showers (included in the price), a toilet block, a small laundry with a tumble dryer, washing up area, chemical disposal, recycling conveniences, and recycling amenities. Bikers can make use of the secure lock-up and wash-down area. Feel free to leave bulk vehicles behind in favour of the local bus route. Owners Alan and Christine Knott encourage barbeques and welcome fur babies.
