Campers who prize seclusion over sceneries can set up camp in the more sheltered section of the campsite while those with a passion for the panoramas can kick back and enjoy the views all day long at the second section of the park that looks out over the gleaming bay. The walled area of the campsite can accommodate awnings. Fall in love with the rural landscape and idyllic atmosphere of quiet, picturesque Garlieston village. Take a stroll around Garlieston harbour and observe the fishing boats breeze across the sparkling waters. Head out further afield into the forested headlands of Eggerness, and explore the site of an ancient camp sprinkled with rock carvings and access to a sandy beach. Swimmers can enjoy a refreshing dip in the gravel beach behind the harbour, and walkers can follow the two and a half-mile walk to Rigg Bay. For more outdoorsy adventures venture further afield for the stunning lochs, mountain peaks, and mist-clad moorlands of the Galloway Forest Park.
