The family-friendly Drumshademuir Caravan Park rests between Kirriemuir and Glamis in the sweeping Strathmore Valley, with easy access to exciting visitor attractions like the Angus Glens, and Angus, and the famed Glamis Castle which serves as the setting for Shakespeare’s much-loved Macbeth. Look forward to camping essentials like a coin-operated laundry, washing up areas, free hot showers, and disabled-friendly toilets and showers. This peaceful, well-run campground offers fur babies a lovely wooded area for long walks, and cheery gallops off the leash. The site accommodates well-levelled pitches, statics, and a few glamping pods that feature a TV, heater, kettle, microwave, and fridge. Guests may bring bedding or rent out a bedding pack for an additional fee. There is a children’s playground for the munchkins, plus a bar and restaurant at the entrance serving lunches, evening meals, teas, and takeaways. The town of Kirriemuir is nearby, with many independent shops, and two co-ops. Stock up on camping essentials, or follow the narrow winding streets, and explore exciting nooks and crannies. Take a snap of the Peter Pan statue at the Town Center, and learn of one of Kirriemuir’s most famous sons, J.M. Barrie, or join in the ‘Bon Fest’ held in honour of Bon Scott of AC/DC. Excellently positioned at the foot of the Angus Glens, Kirriemuir is a great place for hill walking, fishing, and deer-stalking. Head back to the site, and fire up the grill for a peaceful, alfresco barbeque at sundown.
