West Highland Way Campsite

West Highland Way Campsite

Located: Campsites in Blanefield, Stirling

John Muir Way Campsite is a quiet, pet-friendly campsite set by the beautiful volcanic hills of the Campsie Fells. The peaceful village of Strathblane is a comfortable mile from the site, allowing easy access to local amenities, long-distance walking paths and the nearby Glengoyne distillery which offers visitors a behind the scenes tour of the distillery. The campsite rests on the John Muir Way and West Highland Way walking trails which is sure to be a big draw for the outdoorsy types. For more glorious scenery, big skies and sprawling landscapes mosey on to the Trossachs National Park (15 minutes’ drive) or spend a fun-filled day with the family exploring a range of adrenaline-pumping watersports like kayaking and Seaplane flights at Loch Lomond. Club wielders will be busy for hours as they explore over ten lush golfing courses all sprinkled across a twenty-minute drive from the campsite. The kids will love a flying demo at the Strathblane Falconry which is a five-minute drive from the John Muir Way. For urban adventures look no further than Glasgow and Stirling, which are thirty and forty minutes away, respectively. Wander from castles to bird parks in the buzzing cities, or shun high-density locations for the views and peaceful atmosphere at the base. End the day soaking sore muscles in the hot tub, or trot over to the swish restaurant for a well-deserved meal. Fire up the grill at sunset if you’re keen to savour alfresco dining, or toast marshmallows around the crackling campfire.
