Walkers Cottage is a rural and peaceful site nestled in a charming location, affording jaw-dropping vistas over the lush Wye Valley. Sit back amid spectacular countryside and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere at the base as you settle in for an eco-friendly, rural escape. The 6.5-acre smallholding grows greengages, apples and plums in the fertile orchard, plus fruit and herbs in the lovely cottage garden. The gentle buzzing of honeybees is certain to catch your attention as you pass the bee garden, while curious hens often come over to greet visitors or have a scratch at the grounds around the pitches. It’s all about getting back to the basics at this welcoming site, so if you are travelling with kids or look forward to the creature comforts of a high-density park, Walkers Cottage may not be the best campsite for you. Tent owners are welcome to pitch up on spacious bases and enjoy the freedom of a relatively uncrowded site, where the availability of the number of pitches are limited. Potter around in the book stores at the famed book town of Hay-on-Wye, or use the areas as your base for walks in the Black Mountains or the Brecon Beacons. Savour a refreshing dip in the River Wye, or stroll through riverside gardens at Brobary House. End the day with alfresco evenings huddled around a campfire or a sizzling barbeque grill.
