Wake up to the distant sounds of flowing water as you listen to the gentle trills of birdsong and watch as the golden rays of the sunrise illuminate the greenery of the Dinas Mawddwy valley. A prime position inside Snowdonia National Park ensures river and mountain views for scenic days of lazing at the base. If you’re keen to get out and about from the site, make your way to Snowdon to enjoy a range of open-air pursuits. Ask the team at Bare Bones for pointer and tips on the best hiking opportunities around, including numerous scenic routes by the water and the hundred or so lakes in Snowdonia. Summit craggy peaks like Cader Idris and Tryfan, or hop on your bike and mosey into Coed-y-Brenin forest, home to the UK’s first and most extensive mountain bike trail centre. Head back to base, fire up the grill on your non-electric tent or touring pitch, and settle in for a night of stargazing. Sorry, no pets allowed.
