Maes Tywyn Campsite is a clean, basic campsite ideally located a smooth ten-minute walk from the picturesque village of Newborough. The site also enjoys proximity to the beach of Newborough as well as the magical tidal island of Ynys Llanddwyn. The campsite is perfect for families who can kick back and unwind to in scenic settings, while enjoying easy access to leisurely walks, inviting beaches, and local amenities in the village nearby. Walkers will find plenty to explore in the surrounds via a range of well-marked trails including the famed little outcrop of Ynys Llanddwyn. Christened after the Welsh patron saint of lovers, Ynys Llanddwyn is easy to access on foot and has a lovely lighthouse as well as a crumbling chapel accessible via a serene walk through the Newborough Forest. Families can dive into a delicious picnic on the soft sands of Newborough beach and observe seals basking or swimming in the area. The most far-flung shores are no more than an estimated half-hour from the campsite, and a bus to Bangor and beyond is a short trot away if needed. Maes Tywyn Campsite only welcomes tents and provides the usual facilities like toilets, hot showers, washing up area, and Wi-Fi. Barbeques allowed and pets welcome.
