Trwyn Yr Wylfa Farm is probably one of the few sites that really epitomize the words “jaw-dropping vistas”. The farmland campsite first seduced outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers back in the 1940s and continue to pull in wanderers from different walks of life with a stunning blend of the glittering sea ahead and looming mountains right behind. The name Trwyn Yr Wylfa translates to watchpoint, and we couldn’t think of a more fitting name for a location so lushly remote and incredibly tranquil. The site is very much a camper’s campsite often containing a wonderful blend of outdoor enthusiasts, couples, families, and the odd fur baby. What the campground lacks in flashy gimmicks from the more commercial holiday parks, it more than makes up for with clean, appropriate facilities and spectacular, uninterrupted panoramas. On-site facilities include a toilet block and hot showers with separate ladies and gents facilities, chemical disposal points, a dishwashing area, a large field for the tots to whizz about or play ball games, recycling collection and Wi-Fi included in the site charges. Guests can opt between grass pitches with or without electricity looking out at the enclosing mountains and sea, plus a bell tent and a lotus bell tent that sleeps four. The Blue Flag approved Penmaenmawr beach is a fifteen-minute walk away with a café, plus a paddling pool and exciting play area for the munchkins.
