Picket Pods is a small, friendly campsite set within the stunning greenery of the Vale of Glamorgan, ideally placed just a ten-minute drive from the lively market town of Cowbridge. The town enjoys an excellent position between the gleaming sea, the verdant countryside and the buzzing cities, serving as an ideal base for coastal days out and adventures by the beach. There are heaps of independent shops and places to eat, and cosmopolitan Cardiff is no more than twenty miles away. The kids will entreat parents to whizz them over to the golden sand beaches of Ogmore and Southerndown set an easy fifteen-minute drive away. The munchkins can run across the vast beach, build sandcastles, explore rock pools and splash in the gentle waves lapping the shores under the watchful eye of parents basking in the golden warmth of the sun. Couples can pack a hamper with their favourite snacks and a bottle of wine, and head out to uncover a secluded corner for a quiet picnic. Spread out a blanket, uncork the bottle of wine and soak in views of the gleaming waves ahead. Head back to base to unwind in you well-equipped pod and soak in the sunset. If you are feeling peckish, why not fire up the grill and settle in for sizzling alfresco eats under the dusk sky that will soon give way to twilight. Pets welcome.
