Harvey is a 1973 T2 right-hand drive Westfalia, but with the massive bonus of having a brand new 1.6-litre engine in June 2016, under a two-year warranty, with a new gearbox, clutch, and exhaust system at the same time. A complete re-wire is to be carried out in March 2017. This is the 6th year he has been successfully hired out through Camperbug. Harvey is fully equipped for camping, and you will soon get into the routine of sleeping. Push up the elevating roof and top bunk, and you have a full standing height within the van during the day, allowing you to cook and move about.

We were the coolest people on the campsite in Begbie - awarded ‘first van’ by a gang of kids on our long weekend away at Catgills campsite near Bolton Abbey. This was our first time in a campervan and Begbie really was the highlight of our trip. He was comfortable and practical to sleep in. Our four year old loved the pop-top and hammock and we all slept much easier and warmer than in a tent. We easily made coffee, breakfast and dinner with the equipment provided. Fun to drive when you get used to the controls, and we received waves, give-ways and admiring comments on our travels. Very pleased that we could safely put a car seat in the back. The owner Mark couldn't have been more helpful and flexible – Begbie has obviously been a much loved part of family holidays, and we were really pleased to be able to experience that. It has persuaded us to get our own campervan!
