The Old Post Office Campsite

The Old Post Office Campsite

Located: Campsites in Holmrook, Cumbria

The Old Post Office Campsite is a compact, family-friendly site ideally located on the fringes of the western portion of the stunning Lake District National Park. The site first welcomed visitors in 1951, and now features spacious camping accommodation paired with a host of excellent features. The campsite enjoys a convenient position in the picturesque and quiet village of Santon Bridge, affording easy access to local amenities. Guests can look forward to waking up to the soothing sounds of running water from the River Irt which borders the farm on one-side. Fishing folk are invited to pack in the appropriate gear to make use of the excellent fishing opportunities in the river which is famed for its thriving population of brown trout and salmon sea. The site does not hire out fishing gear, so please make sure to pack in the essentials. Spend your days enjoying relaxed fishing, and slap your catch on the barbeque grill for a well-earned alfresco meal complimented by a glass of wine or a refreshing lager. The Old Post Office offers grass and hardstanding plots for campervans, motorhomes, caravans and tents. There are several plots set beside the river for those who want to get up close to nature. Communal facilities include toilets, showers, washing up area, launderette, and chemical disposal. Free Wi-Fi is available for those who need to stay in touch with the outside world. Pets welcome.
